D.C. United acquires forward Yordy Reyna in trade with Vancouver Whitecaps

In 2019, Reyna made roughly $700,000, a figure which could place him at the top grade of D.C. salary.

Because of publication coronavirus protocols, Reyna won’t be available to perform straight away.

In a statement, United General Manager Dave Kasper stated Reyna”was on our radar for some time now.

“He has proven the high quality and goal-scoring capability to create a real impact in this league. … We are becoming a true attacking gift and we anticipate him strengthening our assault because we push for a playoff place,” he explained.

Reyna, who flipped 27 last week, has 20 targets and 17 aids in 77 MLS regular season games since joining the Whitecaps from Austria’s RB Salzburg at 2017. His most effective period was 2018, when he had six goals and 11 assists.

Last year, he also scored seven days and added one assist. This season, Reyna has one goal and one assist in eight appearances. His last beginning for its Whitecaps has been Aug. 18. Three days later, he had been dropped from the game-day roster for breaking team rules.

Reyna is your next South American forward obtained by United in recent months, linking Venezuela’s Gelmin Rivas, who had been enjoying Turkey. Rivas, 31, has made two appearances since coming in Washington.
