Before Alicia Keys was a spouse and mom, she had been one of the strongest singersmusicians and song writers in the music business! Alicia just published her new record, and at a recent interview, shows that she had other plans for one of her hit songs.
While talking with Stereogum, Alicia talks about composing “Impossible” Christina Aguilera, and shows that she really wanted her to sing her hit tune, “If I Ain’t Got You”. Unfortunately, her A&R wasn’t going to let her give up the tune, and she recalls his humorous reaction.
“He said, ‘Are you f*cking crazy? We’re not giving her that song. Are you out of your mind?’” Alicia states ) “I was like, ‘Why not? I’ll write a hundred more of those, its fine. I think she should hear it. I don’t really think it’s a big deal.’”
Alicia says it was a particular experience having the ability to utilize Christina, no matter if she gave her song.
“I cut the vocals with her because I produced everything,” she states. “So it’s really important to be in the same space to just get all the energy. That was great. She sounded so good and she’s very special too.”

Alicia’s brand new record is a 15-monitor, features lots of artists, also talks about growth and love within her lifetime. While talking about the very first track on the record, Alicia describes how she writes tunes as messages .
“A lot of the times when I write songs, it’s because I need the message myself. with “Underdog,” I really like the thought of defying offs. A good deal of the times we’re believing, “How can we get to the next place? How can I actually take my dreams and manifest them?” Sometimes # & that 8217;s the toughest part, but if you keep moving you’ll discover it’s likely to happen for you. ”
