Louisville is in a condition of unrest as protesters continue to demand justice for Breonna Taylor. In the wake of Wednesday’s decision to not charge the officers with Breonna’s passing, protests erupted onto the streets of Louisville in which 2 Louisville Metro Police Department officers were shot and injured.
One individual is in custody, according to officers, since the officers recuperate at a Louisville hospital. The shots rang out about 8:30 p.m., according to a report from WKYT.
“Both officers are currently undergoing treatment at University Hospital,” LMPD Interim Chief Rob Schroeder stated in a news conference about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. “One is alert and stable. One is undergoing surgery and is stable.”
Schroeder, who stated he was not releasing the titles of those officers, added that “one person is in custody,” however he declined to discharge the individual’s identity.
It’s not really clear if the shooting was related to some protests but videos broadcasting on social media revealed protesters running from the noise of nearby gunfire.
A curfew has been put on the town as protesters squared off with officers late Wednesday night. There was no immediate word on the number of arrests made Wednesday.
“I am very concerned about the safety of our officers,” Schroeder said.
The FBI tweeted that it’s helping LMPD from the shooting evaluation.
Trump got fired up across the protests and made a couple of tweets in reaction to what was happening.

One officer, Brett Hankison, was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment because of his role in the raid Breonna Taylor’s house on March 13. He fired 10 shots from out her flat, a number of which ended up moving into adjacent units, which explains the reason why he had been charged with wanton endangerment.
