Joey King Shares Full Dance Sequence From “The Kissing Booth 2”

Whether you have observed The Kissing Booth 2 only once or many times already, there is undoubtedly one scene that deserves multiple viewings: the epic closing arcade dancing chain containing Elle (Joey King) and Marco (Taylor Zakhar Perez). And today Joey has provided fans a broader look at the remarkable choreography by discussing the complete version of the dancing to Instagram.

“We danced the entire day which was killer on my shin splints but my dance partner made it all worth it,” Joey composed along with her IGTV video. “This was a really exhausting day but more fun than anything else. I miss this a lot.”

In the two-minute clip, we watch Joey and Taylor completely slay the sharp choreography, even though a camera extends from over and the other circles the set on the floor. The two do not skip a beat as they jump from square to square, or utilize the pub supporting the arcade game as expertly as any gymnast.

However, one thing is markedly different — that the arcade is not an arcade in any way. Apparently, that the whole dance series was shot via green screen, together with the dancing game’s stage functioning as a lone prop. This trivia nugget left fans feeling as shook because they did once they realized that — spoiler! — Elle will get to choose between Harvard and Berkeley.

“So…it wasn’t actually shot in an arcade?” one fan commented using a sad-face emoji. Another Instagram user composed: “idk how I thought they filmed this but it wasn’t like this,” while the other enthusiast lamented, “IT’S ALL FAKE!”

One thing which is not imitation though? Joey and Taylor’s glossy dance abilities. For the very first movie, Joey endured three hours of dance rehearsal daily, and she coached as tough — if not more difficult — to the sequel. “I’m not a dancer!” she said in a meeting with the Los Angeles Times previous year. “This choreography is nuts, but so good.”
