As Election Day turned to Election Week, people throughout the country was able to come together around one coordinated trigger: collective adoration for cable news anchors.
If you have been online whatsoever lately, you’ve likely seen folks on your deadline timidly admitting their crushes on the likes of Chris Cuomo, Steve Kornacki, or Don Lemon. And, like several other web tendencies, this one immediately took on a life of its own, shortly spiraling into full-blown thirst TikToks and sparkly fancams. To be honest, we have been glued to the news for four days straight. Watching John King along with his magical wall for this long…well…it does things to someone.
Like the continuing election memes (Nevada, lookin’ at you), the newscaster thirst tweets have provided a much-needed feeling of comic relief. Ahead, please appreciate a few of the funniest, most innovative, and just most shameless crush declarations we have seen online nowadays. You’re welcome.
Let’s beginning with Steve “Map Daddy” Kornacki.
We need to start with this internet’s favorite #chartthrob and MSNBC political correspondant Steve Kornacki. It was not long into Election Day that people online dropped difficult, and Kornacki soon became the subject of unlimited tweets, videos, and yesfanfiction. One Map Daddy enthusiast even had a proposal for ABC’s next period of The Bachelor, also we’d love to view it.
John King has straight-up hypnotized audiences with his magical wall.
CNN’s Election Night policy had individuals marveling over John King’s seemingly endless energy, and following a few days in a row…well…that the tweets just talk for themselves.
But let’s not forget Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo.
There’s lots of love to go around for all these two CNN icons. And if you have ever found yourself Chris Cuomo TikTok, well, IYKYK.
Oh and there is plenty of Jacob Soboroff stans.
Like, A LOT. And if the MSNBC correspondent innocently asked “What’s a fancam?” the net was pleased to supply illustrations.
But for a lot of folks, the genuine magic appears to be at the joint powers of all of the anchors together.
As one Twitter consumer put it: “I’ve seen so much of Jake Tapper, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, and Anderson Cooper (Phil & John we like you too) these last few days and I’m not mad about it.” Not mad about it whatsoever .
